How Rocket Phonics solves

Thirty years of research has shown there are five skills all children must master to read. Each skill should be integrated to build on the previous skill. Also, these skills need to be taught directly and systematically.  Research shows that most children will not "just pick it up" if these skills aren't directly taught. Skill # 1 Phonemic Awareness 

When your child becomes aware that the words he speaks are made of different sounds (phonemes), he is now ready to read.

 
Rocket Phonics tests phonemic awareness while having fun and playing Go Fish. The parent refers to the picture by the sound it represents. When the student shifts from giving the name of the picture to saying its sound, he has phonemic awareness. Imagine how much fun you can have with your child!
